This is gonna be a personal review. I got this gorgeous book from my friends from Team Taiwan. Thank you a lot. First i had to take a look, and I got a little bit nervous, its a lot of faces, that I never did before… but I will give it a shot. I hope you like what I did…..

Een persoonlijk review. Ik heb dit prachtige boek gekregen van mijn Taiwan Team vrienden, heel veel gezichten, wat ik nog niet eerder heb gekleurd… maar ik wil een poging wagen. Ik hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden wat ik er van heb gemaakt…

I am already impressed by the coloring of the coverspread, beautifull! Let’s have a look inside this beauty…..

Ik ben al onder de indruk van de prachtge ingekleurde platen op de kaft, deze zijn door leden van team Taiwan ingekleurd. Maar we gaan eens een kijkje in het boek nemen…

The paper from these GDG books is just great. Its one side printed, so you can use anything you want in the books if you use a thin cardboard in between. But that dose not help for me, because I am scared to color faces…. so I had my self a safe plan…use make-up!!! Yes, i picked my eyeshadow box and started to color!

Het pepier van dit boek is gewoonweg fijn, enkelzijdige druk, dus je kan met alles aand eslag, leg altijd voor de zekerheid een goed vel papier ertussen, dat voorkomt doordruk op een volgende plaat. Ik ben voor veilig gegaan voor mijn eerste gezicht, en ben gaan kleuren met jawel, OOGSCHADUW

                  
I use my fingers and applicators who are with the eyeshadow. It works pretty fine and smooth. The endresult!

Ik heb mijn vingers gebruikt, en de aplicators die bij de oogschaduw zitten, wattenstaafjes kan uiteraard ook… het eindresultaat
                     

So, that was an interesting journey , I choose another one and will use my Spectrum Noir Markers on this one. But how to color faces with markers? I could not do it the way it belongs, I started to color a face “Out of the Colorbox”, that does feel safe for me haha.

Dat was een interessante reis, ik ga de volgende inkleuren met Spectrum Noir Markers. Maar hoe dan, in een gezicht? Ik durf niet gelijk zoals het hoord, dus ik ga voor out of the colorbox, voel ik me wel veilig bij….
            
I love this one to color, because she is Out of the box too, and thats what I really like… And this way coloring a face, is pretty fun to do… I got a little bit more secure of myself. Show you some details….

Deze is wel erg leuk om in te kleuren, juist omdat ik out of ga. Ik voel me een stuk veiliger daardoor…. kijk ook even naar wat details.
                                                        
and of course the result

Its a petty that scans of colorings are so different sometimes as they are in real color. But thats how it is. I will do the third Whimsey, and yes, with Spectrum Noir markers and Colorgel Glitter, and also the face… I have practiced…I can…I think…

jammer dat scans de kleuren soms zo veranderen, maar is niet anders. De derde plaat ga ik doen zoals het hoort, dus met “gezichtskleuren”, ook met de markers en met glitters voor wat accenten… ik kan het…denk ik…

        
So far it was easy going, did the hair, did the feathers and her necklace… I start with her make-up, her eyes, and than…. pff… that was not so easy as I thought. I did a face with alcohol markers, and I am really happy with it!

Tot zo ver ging het wel goed, haren, veren en halsketting zijn gedaan…. begin wederom veilig met de make-up…. en toen kwam dan het gezicht…pfff, minder makkelijk dan ik dacht,, maar voor mijn eerste met markers ben ik erg tevreden, ik ben blij

Bev, you have a new fan of your book! I hope you like what i did in here….. I can practice a lot on faces now! But for the reader, its not all faces, there are flowers, mandala’s, and some pretty others so there will be a lot of coloring fun for anyone!

Bev, je hebt er een fan bij hoor. Ik hoop dat je het mooi vind wat ik voor je heb gedaan. Maar voor jullie als lezer, het zijn niet alleen gezichten hoor, mandala, bloemen en zelfs dieren kom je tegen in dit boek. Kleurplezier voor iedereen dus.

This book has a few simpler drawings, but is full of high quality detailed work that is great for the intermediate to advanced colorist. All pictures are single sided, so easy to color! A blank piece of paper between pages is recommended for those who love to use markers! The cover is colored by both Leaf Yeh and Jodi Ho, and the back is colored by Lilan Chen.
